Cobalt6 supports Hanger, threatens to stack Staunton's Mass Meeting

Cobalt6 supported State Senator Emmett Hanger before, during, and after the Republican Primary for State Senate. This is the same Cobalt6 that pride themselves on comments and language like this:

If a radical left wing group is supporting a Republican candidate, attention must be paid and serious questions asked. But don't take my word for it, hear it from the horses mouth:

“…it seems to me that as between Emmett Hanger and Scott Sayre, Hanger would make the better Senator…” -- Clifford Garstang (Jun 14, 2007)

When local Republican committee and their chairs lined up behind Scott Sayre, it was Cobalt6 who felt sorry for Hanger.
“I mean, we all wish that Democrats had gotten that Senate seat, but still.....poor Emmett. He can't catch a break to save his life.” -- Eddie Garcia (Jan 23, 2008)

“I think Hanger has momentum and I don't think it will even be close." -- Clifford Garstang (Jun 8, 2007)

“Cobalt congratulations to Sen. Hanger. It is now a battle of ideas, fair, square, and decent politics. May the best man win. See you in November, Emmett.”
-- Eddie Garcia (Jun 12, 2007)
With Cobalt6 supporting Emmett Hanger, the fact that Hanger is a Mountain Valley Republican becomes more and more evident. The reality of what that is, is becoming a more frightening truth. A Mountain Valley Republican is a Democrat turned Republican so he might be elected easier. And we see that evident in the career and the votes of Emmett Hanger. What other legislators claim the title of MVRs? The solid, truthful conservatives like Russ Potts, John H. Chichester, and Jerry Kilgore. And aren't they just model conservatives (note the sarcasm)? Even on Cobalt6 they give the nod of the head to Chichester:
Retiring VA Senator John Chichester (R) supported several Democrats in the recent General Assembly elections because he couldn't stomach some of the anti-government reactionaries in his party. -- Glade (also a regular contributor to the MisLeader's message boards) (Nov 9, 2007)
Scott Sayre told his constituents if they elected Hanger, he would not only increase their gas taxes but also grant in-state tuition to illegal immigrants. Hanger was elected, turned around, and did just that--caucusing heavily with the Democrats in the legislature. Gas taxes are in danger of being raised and illegal immigrants now are easily able to get in-state tuition with the passing of SB1204 which made it up to the Senate. Luckily, it failed. With this caucusing and pandering to the Democrats it has become evident that Emmett Hanger will do the bidding of the Democrats if it means they will keep him in office a little longer. Not only has that been shown by his blatant caucusing with the Democrats in the legislature but in the fact that he has even met with, on multiple occasions, members of Cobalt6, including Eddie Garcia:
I met Hanger three times before the primary, he knows darn well I'm a Dem...he introduced me to his wife as, "Eddie, the Vermont liberal." ("At your service, ma'am", I said with a small bow.)” -- Eddie Garcia (Jun 16, 2007 & Jan 23, 2008)
If Hanger was a true conservative--dedicated to the principles of the Republican Creed, he would not be caucusing with the Democrats. He would not be turning his back on the grassroots. A theme that even Cobalt6 agrees with:

“In fact, the only folks who have lined up behind Sayre are the leaders of the local Republican Committees [whose] jobs are, at best, thankless." -- Clifford Garstang (Jun 08, 2007)

Hanger should be telling his party to stand up, unite, and stand for something. He is not putting out that message in any form and as a result, we are now falling for anything. He is turning the Republican Party into the minority. Hanger should be standing up, condemning radical liberals like those at Cobalt6 for trying to get involved with Republican politics--because there is that threat--especially at Staunton's Republican Mass Meeting. Cobalt6 has already threatened and made clear that there should be an effort to come out, and stack the meeting with votes to oust the current leadership:
Let's Vote!!! (4.00 / 2)
I just want to go to that meeting so much. I'm ready to go vote against him. Anyone want to go? Do i have a going problem?

Cobalt6 should not be manipulating Republican politics and policies. They do it with Hanger because he allows it and is practically one of them. Cobalt6 has no honor, and those at Cobalt6 are not gentlemen. If they were, this subterfuge would be a non-issue because it would not be occurring. The local Democrats are actively discussing the possibility of rigging the Staunton Republican Committee's Mass Meeting so they can seat the candidates they choose. And as for now, Senator Hanger is content with sitting on the sidelines, not getting involved, and watching the Republican Party crumble...all while caucusing with and for the Democrats.

I'm glad I'm a Reagan Republican and not a Liberal Mountain Valley Republican.

Gentlemen, Alex, do not deface their candidate's signs in an effort to generate sympathy for him, nor do they pose as attorneys when in fact, they are not.
Gentlemen do not take dives to the pavement at campaign events in an effort to generate false police atention toward a credentialed reporter.
And now, because I have repeatedly allowed that I see Emmett as a good and decent man, you attack him?
You have no standing, young buck, to say who is a gentleman and who is not.
It takes more than a few swear words to define someone's character.
You define yours throug your actions.
As you have repeatedly demonstrated a tendency toward pusillanimity with respect to publishing my posts, you may be assured that this comment will appear as part of our response on Cobalt6, where no posting is ever deleted except by its author.

"Cobalt6 should not be manipulating Republican politics and policies."

Cobalt6 is COMMENTING on the Republican policies. Cobalt6 does not agree with the policies.

"Cobalt6 has no honor, and those at Cobalt6 are not gentlemen."

This would be referring to the fact the the Republican mass meeting is only open to card carrying, True Red, Screed Believing, dogmaticians. But hey it's a FREE country and I guess they can believe anything they please. And thank you, it's been a pleasure!

Fact is Emmit Hanger is a pragmatic, common sense politician. He's able to see around and through an issue and still remain a conservative. I applaud him for not placing ideological purity above his duty to his constituents.

To the both of you--

You all do a great job of dodging all that I threw at you, twisting it, and going off on tangents.

Did Cobalt6 or did they not support Emmett Hanger before, during, and after the Republican Primary? Or did I make up all those quotes?

Did contributors to Cobalt6 not support the idea of stacking the Staunton Mass Meeting by stating they would like to come and oust out the leadership. Or were those quotes made up as well?

And Blue Ranger, you're defending Emmett. You're a Democrat. Thank you for undeniably proving my point. If, by Hanger being a, "pragmatic, common sense politician", you mean that he panders and caucuses with Democrats, then you're absolutely right.

Did you vote for and support him too?

Answer straight. Both of you.

One simple comment from a visitor to Cobalt6 about attending a Republican meeting should NOT be construed as an attempt at political sabotage. The meeting is in NO danger of being taken over by Valley Democrats.

I do not support Emmit Hanger. I did not vote for him. I disagree with his positions on most issues. I DO agree with his position on the gas tax.

I also recognize that he is a conservative and a Republican and can RESPECT his positions. I do not hate Republicans or conservatives. I just don't share their worldview or political views.

These are LIBERAL views which make it possible for me to recognize good governing policies where ever they lie in the political spectrum. I can agree or disagree as I wish even though I strongly support those policies that reflect a progressive point of view.

These are straight at you JMax and anon... And it's been a pleasure!

Once more I say, "I also recognize that he is a conservative and a Republican and can RESPECT his positions. I do not hate Republicans or conservatives. I just don't share their worldview or political views. "
